La cifra de víctimas por el coronavirus subió este domingo a más de 2.442, según dio a conocer el gobierno de China. Asimismo, la cantidad de contagiados creció a 79.000. Cuáles son los países más afectados.

La epidemia se expandió fuera de China continental en las últimas semanas y ya 26 países notificaron contagios y fallecimientos. El balance por fuera de territorio chino alcanzó los 1.500 infectados, principalmente en Corea del Sur y en el barco de crucero “Diamond Princess” atracado en Japón. Hasta el momento no se han registrado casos en América Latina.

La OMS pidió que cada país tomara medidas de prevención y no de miedo.

Al menos 77.000 personas fueron contagiadas en China continental, donde el nuevo coronavirus ha dejado ya 2.442 muertos. Casi todas las muertes se produjeron en la provincia de Hubei, cuna del contagio, cuya capital es Wuhan. Dos personas murieron en Hong Kong, donde se detectaron, al menos, 70 casos. En Macao se registraron diez casos.

  • Corea del Sur: 602 portadores del coronavirus, que dejó 6 muertos. El número de casos se disparó en los últimos días, sobre todo en la ciudad de Daegu (sureste), donde cientos de seguidores de una secta cristiana fueron infectados. Entre los nuevos casos también figuran 18 personas que habían vuelto de una peregrinación a Israel.
  • Japón: más de 130 casos y cuatro muertos, tres de los cuales procedentes del barco “Diamond Princess”, que murieron en el hospital. Cientos de pasajeros pudieron desembarcar esta semana tras dar negativo a los test. Japón admitió que una veintena dejaron el barco sin haber sido examinados adecuadamente.
