Para alcanzar la armonía es preciso coordinar los diferentes tonos de manera armónica. No obstante, los excesos en los colores pueden tener efectos negativos.
Muchas son las investigaciones que se han realizado sobre los colores en cualquier aspecto de la vida, entre ellas la vestimenta, la comida y la decoración de ambientes.
Más allá de creer o no en el Feng Shui, lo cierto es que la psicología también ha estudiado el fenómeno de los tonos relacionados al estado de ánimo e incluso la salud.
Por ejemplo, el presidente de la Academia Alemana de la Ciencia del Color, Harold Wohlfarth, reportó que tras cambiar las paredes de un colegio de naranja a azul y blanco, la presión sanguínea de los niños descendió un 17%.
Otros estudio presentan cambios físicos y psicológicos con los cambios de color en diferentes ambientes.
Alexander Schauss, director del American Institute for Biosocial Research, explica que el efecto tranquilizante del color reduce el comportamiento agresivo y la violencia potencial. El color rosa es uno de los colores que parece tener este efecto.
Qué saber sobre los colores
La percepción de los colores por medio del ojo es un proceso neurofisiológico complejo, que está asociado a un evento físico de la luz que provoca sensaciones en las personas y hasta en los animales.
Básicamente, son energía que afectan de diferentes formas, produciendo estados de ánimo diversos, aunque con patrones similares.
Cada uno de los colores tiene un significado diferente:
- Blanco: simboliza la pureza, la paz, la inocencia, el optimismo. Se lo asocia a la divinidad, a la estabilidad, a la armonía y a la calma.
- Amarillo: Irradia siempre a todas partes y sobre todo, es el color relacionado a la luz del sol y representa la inteligencia.
- Naranja: es el color del fuego y las llamas, simboliza la energía, el regocijo, el placer y también se lo relaciona al sol.
- Rojo: es el más excitante. Representa el poder, la energía y la vitalidad.
- Violeta: indica la ausencia de tensión, simboliza la calma, la serenidad, la dignidad y el autocontrol.
- Azul: Es un color que transmite serenidad, sinceridad, armonía, fidelidad, y confianza.
- Verde: es la esperanza, la naturaleza, es la armonía perfecta entre el cielo (azul) y el sol (amarillo). También expresa deseo, equilibrio y descanso
- Rosa: es sinónimo de ingenuidad, ternura, bondad, ausencia de todo mal.
- Negro: lo opuesto a la luz, lo que está escondido, la muerte, la noche.
- Gris: iguala a todas las cosas, expresa aburrimiento, desconsuelo, vejez e indeterminación.
¿Cómo usar los colores en cada ambiente?
Más allá de los significados de cada uno de los colores, en el caso de los ambientes de una casa querremos saber cuál utilizar.
Todos tienen un “poder” oculto, que como hemos visto puede influir en nuestros estados de ánimo. A continuación te mostramos algunas recomendaciones de Mejor con Salud que podrían ayudarte en tu elección:
- Blanco, está aconsejado en todos los sitios donde se requiera la serenidad y la paz mental en los más altos niveles.
- Gris se puede usar en oficinas porque simboliza el éxito e inspira a la creatividad.
- Amarillo sirve para aclarar las mentes cuando están confusas y ayuda a estimular el cerebro.
- Naranja aumenta la inmunidad y la potencia, pudiendo ser una excelente opción para una habitación o una sala, también para la cocina porque tiene un efecto de tibieza.
- Rojo se usa para intensificar el metabolismo, es sinónimo de pasión, puede usarse para la habitación matrimonial.
- Azul disipa los temores y tranquiliza la mente, ideal para un recibidor y el verde equilibra las emociones, estimula la compasión y revitaliza el espíritu.
Pero cuidado con los excesos en los colores, porque la sobrecarga de estos podría tener efectos negativos en nuestro estado de ánimo.
Si la casa está demasiado pintada de blanco, sin otros tonos, podría provocar desorientación y cansancio.
Si hay mucho amarillo, este podría traducirse en agotamiento y excesiva estimulación mental.
Los colores oscuros podrían provocar sensaciones relacionadas con la tristeza.
El rojo agitación, tensión y ansiedady el naranja, ansiedad.
Por ello se recomienda no abusar de un solo color en un ambiente, sino tratar de combinarlos con los muebles, o dejar alguna pared en blanco con una guarda en otro color.
Ten en cuenta que los colores cálidos pueden considerarse estimulantes, excitantes y alegres. Los fríos sedantes, tranquilos, pero en exceso podrían parecer deprimentes.
El Feng Shui y los colores
Para esta filosofía oriental, los colores tienen una energía particular. Los colores de las paredes podrían incidir en el bienestar o el malestar de los que ocupan la vivienda.
Antes de decidir qué tono utilizar podría ser bueno consultar con un experto en Feng Shui, si es que buscamos seguir esta filosofía en nuestra casa.
El Feng Shui se basa en cinco elementos, cada uno de ellos tiene un color asociado. Para que la energía fluya de manera equilibrada es preciso que estén todos y en perfecta armonía.
- El fuego está relacionado a las gamas de rojos, rosadas y naranjas (espacios energéticos, dinámicos y vitales).
- La tierra con los marrones y amarillos (seguridad y estabilidad); el metal con los blancos, plateados y algunos dorados (reflexión y planificación).
- El agua con los negros y azules (sensaciones frescas, misteriosas y fluidas) y la madera con los verdes (ambientes de crecimiento, expansivos y juveniles).
Esto quiere decir que para que un ambiente esté en armonía, deberían estar presentes los cinco elementos, aunque sea con algún detalle de cada uno. Sin embargo, esto no tiene porqué significar el hecho de imponer todos los colores, ya que el Feng Shui busca principalmente alcanzar el equilibrio. Ello incluye también a los integrantes de la casa.
