Coronavirus: ya son más de 150.000 los muertos en todo el mundo

Según cifras oficiales, los muertos por el Covid-19 superan los 150.000 casos, con más de 2,2 millones de contagiados. EEUU tiene las peores cifras, con más de 600.000 positivos y casi 35.000 fallecidos.

El Coronavirus ha provocado al menos 150.142 muertes en el mundo desde que apareció en diciembre, según un balance oficial que reproducen distintas agencias internacionales.

Desde el comienzo de la pandemia  de coronavirus se contabilizaron más de 2.207.730 casos de contagio en 193 países o territorios. La cifra de positivos sólo refleja sin embargo una parte de la totalidad de contagios debido a las políticas dispares de los diferentes países para diagnosticar los casos, algunos sólo lo hacen con aquellas personas que necesitan una hospitalización. Las autoridades consideran que hasta ahora, al menos 483.000 personas se curaron de la enfermedad.

Desde el jueves a última hora se registraron 9.022 nuevas muertes y 91.270 contagios en el mundo.

En las últimas 24 horas los países que más fallecidos registraron son EEUU con casi 3.000 nuevos muertos, China continental (1.290, tras una revisión del saldo por parte de las autoridades de la ciudad de Wuhan, donde surgió la pandemia) y Reino Unido (847).

La cantidad de muertos en Estados Unidos, que registró su primer deceso vinculado al coronavirus a fines de febrero, asciende a 34.575. El país registró 683.786 contagios. Las autoridades consideran que 56.546 personas sanaron.

Después del gigante norteamericano, los países más afectados son Italia con 22.745 muertos y 172.434 casos, España con 19.478 muertos (188.068 casos), Francia con 18.681 muertos (147.969 casos), y Reino Unido con 14.576 muertos (108.692 casos).

China continental (sin contar Hong Kong y Macao), donde la pandemia estalló a finales de diciembre, tiene un total de 82.367 personas contagiadas, de las que 4.632 murieron y 77.892 sanaron totalmente. En las últimas 24 horas se han registrado 26 nuevos casos y 1.290 fallecimientos.

El viernes a última hora y desde el comienzo de la pandemia, Europa sumaba 96.721 fallecidos (1.100.677 contagios), EEUU y Canadá 35.929 (715.428), Asia 6.801 (157.131), Medio Oriente 5.371 (117.953), América Latina y el Caribe 4.242 (89.460), África 995 (19.296), y Oceanía 83 (7.785).

Este balance fue realizado utilizando datos de las autoridades nacionales recopilados por AFP y con informaciones de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
