El consumo de bebidas alcohólicas es popular desde hace siglos y la adicción a ellas no resulta extraña.

Con el paso del tiempo, la forma en que se han comercializado estas bebidas ha aumentado considerablemente las ventas. Por supuesto, también ha aumentado el número de personas que abusan de su ingesta por una razón u otra. De esta forma, se convierte en un vicio.

¿Qué son las bebidas alcohólicas?

Una bebida es aquel producto, en estado líquido, apto para la ingesta. Por lo tanto, la bebida alcohólica es aquel líquido a cuya composición se añade etanol (alcohol etílico). Dentro de las bebidas alcohólicas se distinguen dos tipos en función de su proceso de elaboración:

  • Fermentación alcohólica. Este es uno de los procesos más reconocidos en la fabricación de bebidas alcohólicas. La fermentación se realiza en plena ausencia de oxígeno. Se procesan los hidratos de carbono por medio de un microorganismo. De esta forma se puede obtener: cerveza, vino o cava, entre otros.
  • Destilación alcohólica. Por su parte, la destilación es un proceso por medio del cual se separa el alcohol y el agua de un líquido previamente fermentado. A través de este se conciben bebidas como el whisky, el tequila o el ron entre otros.

Las bebidas alcohólicas sirven para acompañar comidas o celebrar en sociedad. También sirven para potenciar los sabores de ciertos alimentos, como es el caso del vino blanco.

En su mayoría, tienen un sabor agradable. Por otra parte, estas bebidas aportan beneficios al organismo si se realiza un consumo moderado de las mismas. Algunos de los beneficios  más conocidos son:

  • Aumentan la temperatura corporal (lo cual resulta muy útil en las zonas frías).
  • Ayudan a prevenir o, en su defecto, eliminar cálculos biliares.
  • El vino  aporta antioxidantes que benefician al organismo, en líneas generales.

Deliciosas y peligrosas

A pesar de que las bebidas alcohólicas pueden acompañar una velada especial o cualquier otro tipo de reunión social, no son imprescindibles. 

No obstante, los medios han promovido la falsa visión de que estas bebidas ayudan a conseguir la diversión y el esparcimiento. Esto ha ocasionado que muchos abandonen la mesura e incurran en el exceso.

En otras palabras, las personas olvidan cómo lograr ratos amenos, bienestar y alegría sin ayuda de estos estimulantes.

Las bebidas alcohólicas pueden convertirse en una vía de escape fácil que no aporta soluciones ni genera felicidad verdadera.

Si bien pueden resultar atractivas al paladar, el abuso lleva a la dicción y esto perjudica gravemente la salud. A continuación te comentamos más al respecto.

¿Cómo reconocer la adicción a las bebidas alcohólicas?

Beber con rapidez

Beber con demasiada rapidez es un indicativo de posible adicción. Esto se debe a que la persona demuestra un ansia que supera la propia capacidad de control.

Esto puede desarrollarse a través de los juegos asociados a este tipo de bebidas. En su mayoría, el objetivo es lograr ser el más rápido en ingerir mayor cantidad. 

Círculos sociales

Los círculos sociales constituyen un indicador valioso a la hora de evaluar una posible adicción. Si una persona elige amistades que inciten a tener un consumo desmedido de bebidas alcohólicas es posible que la persona desarrolle una adicción.

En términos generales, una persona inmersa en este problema procura inclinarse por los compañeros desmedidos, sin ningún límite a la hora de comprar y consumir bebidas alcohólicas.

Asimismo el deterioro de las relaciones es un indicador evidente. Por ejemplo, cuando las personas que rodean al adicto no siguen su ritmo de ingesta, lo más probables es que ocurra un distanciamiento o un cese de la comunicación. Los adictos suelen distanciarse.

Círculos sociales

Elección y excusas

Cuando una persona recurre a una bebida alcohólica en particular de forma regular, esto puede ser un indicativo de adicción. Asimismo esta persona brindará excusas (para intentar justificarse ante otros) cuando se le pregunte acerca de por qué bebe tanto cierta bebida.

A pesar de que muchas personas que tienen adicción pueden llegar a realizar un consumo indiscriminado de bebidas alcohólicas, por lo general, tienen preferencias. Puede decirse que se resguardan en su preferencia.

Impaciencia

Cuando una persona se muestra impaciente por beber esto puede ser un indicativo de adicción. Por ejemplo, recurre a la ingesta de alcohol cuando se aproxima una reunión, la persona comienza a beber por anticipado.

Sin justificación para hacerlo, más allá de un fuerte problema de descontrol sobre el aguardiente, el ron, whisky o cualquier tipo de líquido relativo al alcohol.
